That’s the new dining set from Colleen Desmoulins and The Loft – the Newcombe Dining Set. It’s at this month’s FaMESHed event and it’s amazing. ♥ It includes the dining table, the sideboard, the flowers, the lights, and those gorgeous chairs. I LOVE THOSE CHAIRS.

There are a few different colors available for the whole set, and a ton of different colors for just the chairs themselves…which I totally may grab because I LOVE THEM. That weathered texture is perfect.

at the Arcade.

I didn’t talk to you guys about The Arcade during its first run, and that is shameful. It’s a quarterly gacha festival and IT IS AWESOME. That pretty much sums it up.

Seriously, I’ve never been a huge fan of gacha events, but THIS one – omgah. Amazing stuff from amazing designers…we’re talking about fashion, skins, jewelry, poses…OH, and home and garden. YES. I am so happy with how well-represented H&G is at this event. It warms my cold snobby heart. ♥

And then there’s THIS. The cutest advent calendar in the whole world. You can grab the calendar itself for free, and then play the gacha for each of the keys. Each key opens one of the cubbies and gives you the gift that you see inside in precious mini form. I love this. ♥

Merry Christmas to me.

Best SL Christmas present ever: Colleen Desmoulins of The Loft has released her first mesh sets, and she sent them over to me to check out. Thank you, Santa!

There are two rooms available — the Frezza Living Room, and then also a smaller set, the Frezza Christmas Living Room. Let’s start with the Christmas room, since it’s Christmas and whatnot.

Just gorgeous. And really, take away the Christmas decorations and you still have an amazing room for all year round. But specifically for the holidays, this is just brimming with great deco and adorable details…as The Loft sets always are.

The wood texture on the side table is superb. ♥ And look at these fabrics!

You just wanna touch that blanket, right? LOVE.

As for the entire Frezza Living Room – this is amazing mid-century modern goodness.

I love that color palette. Again, this room is filled with great little accents…Colleen has an amazing knack for adding in the simplest details with the greatest impact. These lamps are beautiful, and the little wooden birds are precious!

Let’s talk about the fabrics again. Colleen has always had the best fabrics in all of SL, in my opinion. It’s one of the very first things I fell in love with at The Loft, even back in 2007 when we were all young and innocent and sculpts were the breaking news.

I really don’t know if I have the words for how much I love the couch fabric. It’s so tweedy and delicious. The chairs are beyond gorgeous, and the texture on the orange pillows is so…real. That’s the simplest description. So real.

If I can gush about textures just a little bit more…THIS is one of the reasons I think Colleen’s textures are tops. Her shading is impeccable. The wood on the table and lamp, below, is gorgeous…but it’s so much more awesome because of the light and shadow baked into the texture. And I show you the back of the couch because truly, the shading on the backs of the cushions as they are obscured by the couch frame — that’s art, my friends. This is how you give depth to SL furniture.

Get over to The Loft to check out the Frezza sets. There are a few more pieces to it than I’ve shown you here, and there are many, many more colors you can choose for the couches, as well. I should also mention that the sets do include a ton of animations and props…but I was way too excited about the textures to actually try sitting on anything. 🙂 So be sure to check that out, too! Enjoy!

Sunday Squee

Hi! Just a quick post to share some gorgeous new releases from around the grid this weekend.

First, from The Loft: the Roxanne Dining Room. I know that I have been exclaiming over The Loft for 4 years on this blog, but I swear – SWEAR – that I still gasp and go “oooohhhh!” every time that Colleen Desmoulins releases something new. When I landed at her shop today to check out the Roxanne set up close, I just sorta spun my camera around for a few minutes with a big smile on my face. That, my friends, is the impact of great design.

Anyway 🙂 here’s that squee in picture form:

There’s nothing that I don’t love here. The shape and texture of the dining table is gorgeous, and I love the sideboard with all my heart. All of it.

The accessories with this set are so cute and so true to mid-century design; Colleen really nailed the look here. I also lovelovelove her different versions of the bus scrolls, with different cities and locations listed…but best of all is the SL version, seen in the pics below…be sure to read that one closely. 😉

Colleen also offers the sideboard in several different colors, and those gorgeous lamps (hanging and table versions) and vases are also available in lots of great colors.

They’re like candy.

There’s also a new house from Jordan Giant and [.nordari.] – the house is named ‘may a stone guide your way’ and is just the sort of quaint and precious little house we look forward to from Jordan.

The house has a simple layout, which is one of the things I love the most about [.nordari.] houses – they’re always just enough space, without a lot of fuss. Comprised of three rooms and a cute little entry hallway, the house has gorgeous wall and floor textures, lots of color and pattern that flows together wonderfully.

I absolutely love the black wood plank floor used in the two larger rooms – I want that floor in my RL house. I really do love how Jordan brings such harmony in her colors and textures, and I really really love her decorating skills! She’s done an amazing job of decorating the ‘may a stone guide your way’ house to show it’s potential – for such a little house, you can really fit in all the living space you need with come clever arranging!

(I am also super excited that Jordan used my Charming Country Kitchen from Second Spaces to decorate this space. ♥)

This is really just a sweet house, great for those of you who thrive in cozy, comfy, eclectic spaces. A few cute little details, too, are that each window has a little ledge, great for displaying your little deco items…and there’s a great ceiling medallion in the main rooms that is perfect for showing off your favorite chandelier or pendant light.

Someone’s in the kitchen with The Loft

Ohhi! Another review for you today – Colleen Desmoulins sent me the latest from The Loft: the Castara Kitchen. As always, Colleen amazes with her textures, her shading, and her attention to detail.

It’s just all so precious! Great for shabby chic styles, as well as country cottage – anything simple and homespun.

So many cute accents and details! I love the little curtains below the stove, and the farmhouse sink is awesome!

In addition to looking amazing, what I love best about a room from The Loft is how interactive it is. Colleen always includes tons of great animations – for the Castara Kitchen, there are singles, couples, and kids animations. The refrigerator is stocked full of food, with lots to choose from, and there are a ton of activities built into the sink, counter, stove, and dining table. Observe:

I decided I needed a snack, so I stood with the fridge open for a bit while I decided. (No electricity bill in SL.) Finally, I went with the most obvious choice – the ice cream.

Well, the ice cream just put me in a mood, so I got busy baking some yummy dessert or another to have later on. Once that was finished, well…I decided to ignore all those dirty dishes and enjoy a nice, calming cup of tea.

See? It’s like you’re right there with me!! Speaking of right there, be sure to go right there [SLurl] to see the Castara for yourself. It’s also now (or very soon) available in blue – the blue tile backsplash is beautiful!
