Another new house from Aya Liotta of -abode-! The Aldwyn-Heritage Home, a cute little cottage ideal for smaller parcels – simple and clean lines, with a touch of character in the textures.

I was feeling ambitious and decided to dress it up a bit for the pics, 1) because it’s like playing dress up for me, and 2) to give some perspective on the size of the living area. I didn’t fill it up and still managed to have three distinct areas: living room, dining(ish), and bedroom. I think the space could be used much more effectively than I demonstrated here, with some creative thinking and more time spent – so let those imaginations kick in.
I like the added detail of the windowboxes (seen in the first group of pics) – I’ve always loved being able to dress up windows with cute little flowers. The back deck is nice, too, with the slatted roof. I added the swing lounger from MudHoney - makes it a great place for lounging on a lazy afternoon. All the furniture/accessories seen here are pulled from Second Spaces, MudHoney, and the m.fox Collection (no longer available).
Swing by -abode- to see the Aldwyn for yourself! [SLurl]
**NOTE: Oh yeah, Aya reminded me: the house is available for just $250L until Monday night! Get to it!**

Happy February, dear readers.
The onslaught of Valentine’s stuff is well under way, and I say ‘bring it on’! First up, Leyla Firefly of Belle Belle has released possibly the most precious bedroom in the history of all Second Life. I am so gonna ask her to be my valentine.

What I’m showing you today is just part of what’s available – there are quite a few more pieces and accessories available now at Belle Belle…so I think you know what you need to do.

The rose on the bed is such a sweet touch…and the satin pillows look so very…well, satin-y! Great texturing there…I just wanna slide right across ‘em.
Now, this bedroom looks sweet and innocent and fun…but if you know Belle Belle, then you know this set is packed – PACKED – with naughty animations. I didn’t bring my boy alt out this time to demonstrate — we’re still a bit awkward from last time. BUT, I will show you just a few of the menus from both the bed and the chaise. Not for the innocent!
Is it just me, or is it getting hot in here?
Get your Valentine on at Belle Belle! [SLurl]
Before I go, here’s a little teaser for ya – I have a BIG announcement coming for you on Saturday. BIG. MAJOR. AWESOME. So, talk to ya then.

Uncle Hank spends hours and hours in his potting shed – but doing what? The grass is overgrown, the flowers are dying…what could he be up to?

Second Spaces is happy to share with you the newest release: Uncle Hank’s Potting Shed. The full release includes the potting shed, the bench seat outside, and all the accessories seen inside! That includes seeds, pots, fertilizer…oh, and Uncle Hank’s stash of liquor and vintage girly mags. Who wouldn’t spend all their time out there?
The set is being released today, Jan 30th, as the SL Daily Deal – for today only, the entire set will be available for just 350L, and only 100 copies will be available!!! After the SL Daily Deal has come to a close, the set will be available for 650L, and the individual pieces will also be available for purchase on their own. It can be found in the main location of Second Spaces!
The SLDD starts at 9am SLT – that’s like now! Get over there and grab your copy!

I decided to grab a few LMs from my folder of “places I found and really like and want to blog someday” and, you know, actually blog them. The system works!
Herbalys - designer Albert Beerbaum has put together a fantastical, whimsical, and really really well-done stock of items, mostly decorative in nature. He has some really fun (almost Seussical) trees available, as well as the pond set included in the first group of pictures, below. Great use of sculpts and awesome texturing make this a must-see shop – and those purple curtains alone make it a must-buy shop! The little ceramic (or stone maybe) owl is just precious – I think I’ll definitely need one of those for the windmill!

Kidd Garden – I am a big fan of really awesome landscaping items, and am especially drawn to grasses and wildflowers that really bring depth to a large open area. I’ve blogged several of my favorites in the past, and now I add Kidd Garden to the list! Created by doP Kidd, Kidd Garden offers just a ton of really amazing landscaping options. One of my favorite things is how the basic grasses are sold – you’ll see in the first pic below that the grasses are offered in various shapes to give a really 3d option to your space. That pic only shows just a few of the various sizes/shapes – there are many more! In addition to great grasses and wildflowers, there are also quite a few really nice structures, stepping stone sets, and bridges. Plus, the sim is set up so nicely with all the products on display, you’ll just want to wander around in the fields picking flowers and soaking up the fresh air. Or something.

As I was preparing this post, I got notice of new releases from The Loft – so, while clearly The Loft is not a new place for me to blog
– you know I have to share the goodness!
I believe the Krissy Shelves are completely brand new, and the Mayer Chaise was previously released in a single color for the Haiti fundraiser. Lots and lots of colors are available now, and I gotta say that this chaise is THE best I’ve seen on the grid. The curves are perfect, and (of course) the texturing is amazing. I bought the Haiti relief edition, which is an olive green — and I think I’m gonna need at least one more color! The zebra stripe is sassy, I may have my eye on that one.
