*9 More Places!* Wrap up!

Standard

Thanks to everyone who took the time to peruse the 9 More Places series. It’s been fun, as always, and I hope everyone found something new that they’d never seen before! There is so much amazing, creative content out there, I could probably keep doing these series forever…and I might. ๐Ÿ™‚ For now, I’m going to resume my regularly scheduled blogging…hopefully get some new releases out for my own shop…and, of course, keep my eyes open for new super cool stuff!

For the wrap-up, here are the links to each blog post, as well as the SLurls for the shops – all in one handy location. I’ll add a link to this on the main page along with the permanent link for the Top 12 Places series, and then it’s all at your fingertips. Enjoy!

Organica

Today’s post is another filled with trees and landscaping items. Aki Shichiroji of Organica has put together a gorgeous spot filled with her trees, flowers, grasses, and other outdoor goodies. As always, you know I love a good build, and Organica is a very pleasant, peaceful oasis that you just have to wander around!

It’s also not so large that you feel like you need to leave a trail of bread crumbs, and I really like that, too. Now on to all the stuff I love!

Tesh Gardens

We covered Tapioca Tastes yesterday, by designer Tequlia Tapioca; today, I want to introduce you to Tesh Gardens by Hamish Stuart, Tequlia’s partner. I have a major soft spot for landscaping items, especially when they go beyond your standard greenery and flowers. Tesh Gardens is filled with beautiful plants, PLUS so many precious little extras to really provide what’s needed for a full-fledged garden. Even better, it’s all housed in one of the most gorgeous true-to-RL builds around. When you go, be sure to wander all around — especially over to the other side of the hills. You’ll see. ๐Ÿ™‚

*Second Spaces* Top 12, part 8!

Standard

Welcome to Part 8 of my Top 12! Need some background on what this list is all about? Click here for the original post.

Let’s recap: so far, we’ve covered the house and the furniture — next step is the landscaping! It’s my belief that you should landscape regardless of how small your place is, or how close the neighbors are — landscaping can be a potted plant or two on your deck, or it can be an entire formal English garden. Either way, you have to do it!

Anyone who has read my blog since the early days knows exactly where I want everyone to go buy their plants and assorted landscape items — Heart Garden Centre, by Lilith and Dolly Heart. I spotlighted Heart Garden last year, and have mentioned them in about 5 different posts…because I love them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Lilith Heart is absolutely the sweetest lady, on top of being a gorgeously skilled designer. Odds are, dear readers, that you all are familiar with Heart – and I guarantee you have all seen their items sprinkled around SL. Those fabulous lighted trees- you know the ones, in pink, blue, or white, that look like 100 individual softly glowing bulbs entwined in a fantastically detailed tree, that you see approximately every 50 sqm across the grid? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Those are from Lilith and Dolly!

I went to visit the Heart sim for the purposes of this post, to get some pictures of items new to me, and I’m going to share those with you here. Please, though, review my previous posts on Heart, and just go there to see the wonders — words cannot do it justice. Here’s what I found for show & tell:

Red Rose bouquet with garlic mustard-potted: Perfection. In a pot.

Hyacinth-Delft Blue: There are several color variations of these gorgeous plants. Perfect for your porch or deck, or even just inside in the foyer!

Tropical Anthurium: Don’t you just want to touch the flowers? It’s like you can almost feel them!

Micro Islands: I’m not sure how i never noticed these before — Lilith and Dolly have actual little (you know…’micro’ ๐Ÿ™‚ ) islands, all ready-made for placement on your water property. There are about 6-8 different shapes/configurations — great idea!

This is just the tiniest sampling of the delights waiting for you at Heart Garden Center. You must go, and go now! There will be a quiz!

After my post on Heart Garden Centre, I sent a brief IM to Lilith and Dolly Heart just to let them know I had featured them on the blog. Soon after, I got a reply from Lilith, thanking me for the blog post, AND sending me some gifts!!! As I told her, it was never my intention to get free stuff — but I’ll take it! ๐Ÿ™‚ She sent me some gorgeous tropical arrangements that I put out at my place, and I want to be sure to thank her formally and properly here!!!

Here are the Beach Edge and Phoenix arrangements that I placed at the edge of my little beach. My place was pretty lush before — these arrangements increase the lushness ten-fold! I love them!! It’s a much more secluded feeling now when you’re standing in my yard.

The vertical arrangements are the Phoenix, and the leaning are the Beach Edge. As mentioned in my previous post, one of the best things about Heart Garden Centre is that you can buy arrangements like this — instead of piecing it together yourself, Lilith and Dolly have done some of the creative thinking for you! There are 10 trees and about 5 plants here – and it’s actually just 4 arrangement objects. Genius. Makes it that much easier to landscape.

Lilith also gave me ‘Tropical Arrangement-spear palm and strelitzia1’ — the lilies (I think they’re lilies – maybe orchids?) are beautiful. I placed this arrangement over by my campfire and hammock.

About 2 weeks ago, I sent a note to Lilith to ask if she’s ever come across plants, or textures, that are neglected, wilted, run-down, etc. My sim (Doll City) has its ‘wrong side of the tracks’ section where everything is just slightly worn, a bit gritty, and I’ve been looking for some landscaping to match that, without much success. Once again, Lilith jumped in to help — she is a sweetheart! She hadn’t seen anything exactly like I was looking for – and I believe she was appalled at the thought of neglected plants ๐Ÿ™‚ – but she sent me a few items of her own that she thought might work. While they weren’t exactly what I had in mind, they were awesome! She sent me a few samples of her ‘Gothic hook – thorn bush’ – I told her they are perfect for some sort of haunted enchanted garden. ๐Ÿ™‚ Throw in some oversized sculpted flowers, and it would be a magical place. I did place them in Doll City, next to our spooky graveyard that’s in place for Halloween, just so I could showcase them here.

How awesome are those??

Thank you again, Lilith!!!
